A sound repair starts with clean prep. AHT removes failed welds and cracked metal down to sound steel with carbon arc gouging, and cuts out damaged sections with oxy-fuel equipment.
Cutting and gouging are also available on their own, for dismantling, modifications and removal work on site.

What is carbon arc gouging?
Carbon arc gouging uses an electric arc and compressed air to remove metal quickly. It is the standard way to take out failed welds and cracks before a repair.
When is gouging used instead of grinding?
Gouging removes old welds, cracks and heavy sections quickly and prepares joints for full-penetration repair. Grinding finishes and blends. Most crack repairs use both.
Can AHT cut steel on site for demolition or removal?
Yes, where the steel is equipment, attachments or fabricated assemblies. Cutting is planned with fire watch and a clean work area at the end.
